The NAACP is the oldest, largest and strongest civil rights organization in the United States.
Founded in 1909 the NAACP’s mission is to ensure the political, educational, social, and economic equality of rights of all persons and to eliminate racial hatred and racial discrimination. The Prince Georges County Branch of the NAACP was founded under the leadership of Hester V. King in 1935, and is currently headed by chapter President Bob Ross in conjunction with our Executive Committee.
